CFA Level 1 Exams Facts
The PTE exam is designed to evaluate the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of candidates through the use of a computer in a three-hour exam session. The individuals planning to take this test are required to go to a Pearson VUE test center close to them. The exam taking process involves using a computer with a headset to listen, read, and respond to the questions. In the course of the three-hour exam period, the students will take part in three major parts of the test, which includes speak and writing as a single part, then listening and reading, separately.
The part one of the PTE exam covers the Speaking and Writing sections. These areas are allocated a total of 77 to 93 minutes for the completion. It covers personal introduction, re-tell lecture, repeat sentence, read aloud, describe image, summarize written text, answer short question, and essay, which takes a total of 20 minutes. The second part of the exam covers the Reading section. This covers multiple choice-multiple answers, multiple choice-single answers, fill-in-the-blanks, and re-order paragraphs formats. This part of the test is allotted 32 to 41 minutes for the completion. The part three of the PTE exam covers the Listening section where the candidates have a total of 45 to 57 minutes to complete it. This area covers the following question types: highlight incorrect words, fill-in-the-blanks, multiple choice (single or multiple answer), highlight correct summary, summarize spoken text, select missing word, and write from dictation.
The test takers have the option of taking an optional ten minutes break between the listening and reading parts of the exam. There are twenty different formats of questions in the PTE test and this range from interpreting information and essay writing to multiple-choice questions. It is essential to mention that PTE Academic evaluates the academic English language. You will be given charts and graphs, and excerpts from lectures with questions on each aspect. You will also be provided with a wide range of accents in the exam, ranging from American and British to non-native speakers of English. This is to expose you to the various kinds of the English accents that you will come across in your everyday life.
