Commercial Drivers Licence Exams Facts

The TASC test is aimed at those adults who do not possess a high school diploma but would like to get a well-paying job or return back to school. The Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) is available in many states of the United States and it is believed that many other states will embrace it in the future. The TASC exam is made up of four sections covering Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, and Language Arts (Reading and Writing). To pass this test, the candidates are required to have a good knowledge in the topic areas like an average high school graduate.

The Mathematics section of the exam is made up of 42 multiple-choice questions: one constructed response, one technology response, and eleven gridded responses. One has a total of 110 minutes to complete it. The Reading part consists of 48 multiple-choice questions. There is also one technology response question and then one constructed response question. There are a total of eight passages in this area. The students have a total of 75 minutes for the completion of this section. The Writing area consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, one technology response and one constructed response. There are also two passages with a single writing prompt question. There is a total of 105 minutes allotted for the completion of this area. The Science and Social Studies sections contain 48 multiple-choice questions each, one technology response and one constructed questions each. There are also a total of eight stimuli questions for the Science area. The candidates are allotted 85 minutes for the completion of the Science section and 75 minutes for Social Studies.

The TASC exam is in computer-based and pencil-and-paper formats. The students can take the test in English or Spanish. It is crucial to mention that there is an associated fee to taking the exam but in the majority of the cases, a government or local agency cover the cost. One thing that the candidates taking this test must have in mind is that it is not very easy. You have to be well prepared and cover the scope of the exam before attempting it.
